The back view of Bal Gangadhar Tilak's house in Ratnagiri. ( The web has lot of photos of the front view ) . The inside and the back yard gives a glimpse of a very different way of life that was prevalent a hundred and fifty years back. He was born here in 23 July 1856 and spent his childhood in this house. Even though his karmbhumi or field of action was in Pune somehow visiting this house ( now a museum with photos from his life) felt fascinating.
