Seeking the Self-ie - Ellora Cave 10

The Kailash temple at Ellora is just magnificent beyond words . But it was Cave #10 which I remember most. Sitting under the columns surrounding the statue of the Buddha one can just imagine fifteen hundred  years back when the place was probably thriving with Buddhist Bhikshus perhaps sitting in queues in quiet meditation.

For the Buddha statue it must be an amusing transformation to have seekers of self replaced by seekers of selfies coming to pay him a visit :)

Picture in a temple town

Triambak, in Maharashra, is an important religious town with the famous Trimbakeshwar Shiva temple. Thousands of devotees throng the place to worship at the Jyotirlinga and also for correcting the astrologically unfavourable "Kaal Sarpa Dosha". Life for the locals goes on behind the fervor of religion.

The glimpse of the rising sun

Kanyakumari is a temple town in the southern part of India. It is famous for the Bhagavathy Amman temple, the Vivekananda rock memorial and the seafront. This is also a place where one can get brilliant views of the sunrise and sunset on the beach. The experience of watching the sunrise with many others jostling to get the best views is interesting. It is funny how nature comes up with this beautiful view every morning. The sky is lit up in brilliant colours every morning, the birds sing and dance through their flight across the skies. Nature does not bother if at all anyone is around to look and praise it for this brilliant light and sound show. And yet, we humans require continuous praise for even the smallest contributions made. Being human is not easy, eh…??
